The course is delivered to groups of up to 20 learners and broken down into eight topics over two days: 

Day 1

  • Planning individual audits and their relationship to the overall audit programme

    • Preparation for conduct of vendor audit
    • Defining the scope, objectives and content
    • Deciding on the audit team

  • The opening meeting
  • Planning the opening meeting
    • Defining the aims and objectives
    • Defining the attendees

Topic 3: Auditing techniques

  • Making good observations
  • Gathering and analysing the evidence

  • Prepare checklists and perform audit

Day 2

Topic 5: Audit findings

  • Characteristics of a good audit finding 
  • Using the LASER technique 
  • Write up findings 

Topic 6: Closing meeting

  • Purpose and content of the closing meeting
  • How to manage the meeting
  • Organise closing meeting
  • Closing meeting

Topic 7: Audit reports

  • The content of a good audit report
  • Grading findings and making recommendations
  • Critically review an audit report

Topic 8: Remote versus on-site

These modules consist of a mixture of presentations, individual and interactive group exercises and role play.
