Who are we?

Tower Mains Ltd was first established in 2001 as an independent Research Quality Assurance consultancy that became widely known as TMQA.  Our core business was conducting audits for clinical trials, regulatory laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and other biotech industries.

Our Tower Mains’ team has acquired a diverse set of skills through their careers, working with academic institutions and worldwide pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The knowledge and experience gained has given us the necessary expertise to innovate remote auditing systems.

Although we have always provided consultancy and training, the demand for these services has grown to be a sought-after service. In other words, we now offer more services aligned to help you and your organisation.

Terry Pratchett has described auditors as godlike beings who create order out of complexity, which made them the enemy of creativity. There is some truth in this. We do pride ourselves in using our skills to establish order out of complexity. We simplify complex processes to make it easy for compliance and build an engagement with quality. However, we are not the bad guys or the enemy of creativity. As to being godlike beings? We will let you decide.

Why Come to us?

Our customers love our high quality of service and engagement. We specifically tailor our services for our clients’ requirements in accordance with the requisite regulatory industry.

Although remote audits are in the limelight at the moment, we have actually been performing these since 2012. Remote audits allow you to continue the required oversight of your studies when it is impossible or not cost-effective to be physically present on site.

Our auditing covers the regulatory environments, which include:

  • Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • GCP for Laboratories
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)/ Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
  • Medical Devices

And we mustn’t forget non-regulatory standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 15189, and quality for research.

Examples of the types of audits we perform are:

  • Reports
  • Studies
  • Systems
  • Vendors

More information on all our audits can be found on our website under Quality Assurance.

What’s New?

You might have noticed that things look a little different around here. Over the past couple of months, we have worked hard to deliver you a new exciting website, where we will be offering educational and engaging content specifically designed for you. With regular news and upcoming courses, we wanted to make sure you had a customer-friendly website to locate all our valued information.

The new website emphasises the comprehensiveness of our services which include training and consultancy as well as audit and Quality Assurance.

Finding the best Quality Management Systems for your business can be challenging. Sometimes it may feel as if all your time is taken up translating the jargon. That is where we come in. Our consultancy team will talk you through the QMS development plans. They will help you find the best system for your organisation.

When designing your systems, we assure they are consistent with the principles of GCP, GLP, or GMP – or for non-regulatory research.  Our team also has experience in developing Quality Management Systems for companies specialising in medical devices and for non-commercial organisations.  We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to each client’s needs and creating a system that works for them.

But that is not all. We know how daunting preparing for an inspection can be. The guidelines and the inspector’s expectations are continually changing, and it can be hard to keep up.  That is why we are here to help. Our consultants will carry out a mock regulatory inspection of all systems and practices in advance.  We will help you to maintain the correct standards of practice and keep you updated on all changes in regulatory expectations to ensure that you are inspection ready.  We also offer something special that few other companies offer – we train your people to be confident and professional during the inspection interviews to enable them to give a performance to be proud of, allowing the inspectors to feel that the processes they are inspecting are incompetent and safe hands.

All our courses are led by experts in their fields to give you the best training possible.  You can expect an interesting experience from our experts who will bring their subject alive through real-life examples and their vast experience and expertise.

Our courses can be run online or face to face depending on your needs.  This ensures that, no matter what the future holds, your organisations can receive specialist training.

For individuals we offer coaching and mentoring. This can be carried out as a one to one session or as part of a small group, to allow our specialists to focus on what is most applicable to you and your organisation. This is not restricted to scientific and technical topics – we can provide training and mentoring in “soft skills” and personal development.

Our current courses include:

  • Good Laboratory Practise (GLP) Refresher (OECD Tests)
  • Good Clinical Practise (GCP) Refresher
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Refresher
  • Introduction to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
